Each year, as the Akrikids program expands, the demand for funds increases. The majority of our funds come from long-term supporters, who sponsor one or more students, paying school fees and medical expenses throughout the year.
We also receive donations from individuals who learn about Afrikids from our sponsors or from Kitoi, who delights in telling the Afrikids story to his many safari guests from around the world. In 2020, for example, we received significant donations from the Elvinger family of Luxembourg after meeting Kitoi on safari.
In addition, we conduct a number of fundraising activities. In March 2022, for example, the Afrikids Club at Palmer Trinity School in Miami —where Samantha and Bobby met and where Bobby now teaches— sold Maasai bead bracelets, earrings, and other artisan work to raise money. Also, Art for Afrikids, created by Laurie Evans in 2020, has become an important source of additional funds for the program. Learn more about Art for Afrikids by clicking on the Art4Afrikids tab.
Every dollar counts. If you would like to be a part of the Afrikids journey, we encourage you to make a donation.
